Exercise: Practice Receiving Feedback
Pick Scenario 3 or 4. Decide who is the feedback giver, receiver, and the listener
- The receiver should practice being a little defensive (offer light pushback) about the feedback.
- The giver will take 5 min to write feedback using the SBI+ framework. The receiver will think about how to offer light pushback.
- The listener will make notes and share feedback on their feedback if your group has time.

When you observe a colleague’s presentation, you notice that they didn’t seem organized and ready to present to the team. How might you give them feedback on how to be better prepared and how other team members and stakeholders experience their work?
Scenario 4
During a meeting, you observe a team member speaking in a dismissive and defensive manner to someone about their decisions. How might you give them feedback on and how other team members and stakeholders experience their leadership?
